Nathan Kuncel Receives McKnight Presidential Fellow Award

I am very happy to announce that Dr Nathan Kuncel has been chosen to receive a McKnight Presidential Fellowship Award. This award is given to the most promising faculty granted tenure and promotion to associate professor in an academic year. Nathan was one of five faculty selected based on the promotion and tenure dossiers evaluated in 2008-2009.

Chris Federico, Corrie Hunt, and Damla Ergun win 2009 Morton Deutsch Award

ANNOUNCEMENT: WINNER OF THE 2009 MORTON DEUTSCH AWARD

Curtis D. Hardin, Editor, Social Justice Research

The Morton Deutsch award is given annually by ISJR to honor the best article published in Social Justice Research each year, with preference for contributions from those relatively early in their research careers. The 2009 winners are Christopher M. Federico, Corrie V. Hunt, and Damla Ergun for their article entitled "Political Expertise, Social Worldviews, and Ideology: Translating 'Competitive Jungles' and 'Dangerous Worlds' into Ideological Reality" (published in the September 2009 issue of SJR, which was a special issue edited by John T. Jost and Arie Kruglanski on "Political Psychology"). Congratulations to the authors! They will be officially recognized at the ISJR conference in Banff, Canada in August of 2010. The committee this year comprised Brian Lowery, Carolyn Hafer and Curtis Hardin (chair).

Pat Frazier Receives Distinguished McKnight University Professorship

I am very happy to announce that Dr Patricia Frazier has been chosen to receive a Distinguished McKnight University Professorship.

This is a tremendous honor which is given to outstanding mid-career scholars at the University of Minnesota. In addition to the title, Professor Frazier will receive a monetary award to be used to further her research and career.
