Bill Iacono has been named a Regents Professor

Dear Colleagues,

I am delighted to be able to inform you that Bill Iacono has been appointed as a Regents Professor, the highest recognition given by the University of Minnesota to a member of the faculty. Bill continues our Department's distinguished tradition of Regents Professor appointments, joining Paul Meehl (appointed in 1968), Ellen Berscheid (1988), and Matt McGue (2007). Please join me in congratulating Bill on this wonderful, well-deserved honor.

Jamie Derringer wins Thompson Award for Presentation at the Behavior Genetics Association Annual Meeting

Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to announce that Jaime Derringer (who will be joining the PIB area this Fall; Adviser Bob Krueger) received the 33rd Annual Thompson Award for the best presentation by an at the 40th Annual Meeting of the Behavior Genetics Association. Her paper was titled, "A candidate system scoring approach to genome-wide data: Illustration of aggregate main and interactive effects of dopaminergic genes and religious service attendance on sensation seeking and cocaine dependence".

Chad Marsolek and colleagues receive 2010 Editors' Choice Award for paper in NeuroImage

Dear Colleagues,

I'm pleased to announce that Chad Marsolek, Becky Deason, Nick Ketz, Pradeep Ramanathan, Vaughn Steele, Ed Bernat, and Chris Patrick have received the 2010 Editors' Choice Award (Cognitive Neuroscience Section) for their article, "Identifying objects impairs knowledge of other objects: A relearning explanation for the neural repetition effect" published in NeuroImage. Congratulations to them on this wonderful award.
