Oh my gosh! I can't believe they say *nothing* about gender! This is absurd! I mean, okay, the race/adoption thing is important too (er, well, a more critical conversation about what it means that youtube commenters are more concerned because he "doesn't look like [their] son" would be more important of a conversation), but seriously, so crazy. The most obvious thing to us gets no attention at all. Wow. Ivory tower moment? Or gender-ignorant public?
