The Abject

Abject as divine and vulgar. I like how you connect these two in order to emphasize the limits and possibilities of being cast out. The idea of divinely vulgar reminds me of the Moon/Sedgwick article about Divine and John Waters. We only read a brief excerpt for class; I would recommend reading the entire essay (and watching Female Trouble or Pink Flamingos or any other John Waters movie). Maybe we should have a GWSS movie night/class reunion next semester? Shit as sacred. Hmmm...

On another note, I really like your incorporation of post-it notes (both the physical and virtual ones). There is something cool (and I think queer) about juxtaposing these different forms of technology on your entries.
