How is this described? What determines "good" sex, as opposed to "bad sex"? Are certain things becoming more acceptable today? Do these things change/ how have they changed over time?

According to "Thinking Sex" by Rubin, it's "good" sex if it is normal, healthy, holy. In contrast, it's "bad" sex if it is weird, taboo, sinful.

Because of science, globalization, some belief has changed. For example, masturbation is now viewed as stress relief behavior. Same sex marriage is approved in some states, countries. Just to name a few.

Good sex is basically anything that is not consensual , vaginal, heterosexual sex after marriage. Anything else (masturbation, sodomoy, homosexual, outside of marriage sex) is bad. I think this has been shaped by the bible. Although things have changed, some of it is still frowned upon while others are more acceptable.

nguy1366, you mean that , "Good sex is basically anything that is consensual , vaginal, heterosexual sex after marriage."

The bigger question which we are directed to now is of what is good and what is bad. Now we have recently seen that between good and bad, we have a new area called necessary evil. Ex. Greed used to be considered to be bad but in today's world wit its negative implications and positive capitalist impacts its considered to be a necessary evil. Similar analogies can be drawn for sex, while certain forms of sex may have negative social and health impacts , other forms are essentially necessary for continuance and may have positive net impacts. Because of the way in which our society and cultures are formed and structured, unacceptable and non-normative things are usually termed sinful and bad.
