What's sex got to do with... Sports Illustrated?

I came across this topic because a few of my guy friends were talking about Sports Illustrated. It got me thinking about why there is a "Swimsuit Edition" of the magazine. After all, what do women in swimsuits have to do with sports? I really can't think of a connection other than the fact that sex sells.
