Time Magazine Article

I found this article while googling sex education the other day. The article was published in 1969 and shows how skewed the argument has been throughout history. We have seen in class, and partially in the reading, that religion and ideology do play a predominant role in the sex education debate. Well, this article even takes it as far to tie sex education up with Communism. Yes, Communism was a big thing when the article was posted but it only goes to show how the debate of sex education has been less about the children and more about the adults morals. Different people have different beliefs, I personally am very thankful to have received a comprehensive sexual education. Without it, I would be so lost because my parents never even mentioned anything sexual, let alone taught me about it. However, abstinence-only education has, over time, developed into a stronger, seemingly less biased argument.

Where do you think the debate stands today, still largely in morality?
