I am Jennifer Jane...

but you can call me Jen.

I am: from south Texas, ready to figure myself all out, outgoing yet I have noticed my social skills have been lacking lately, usually wrong, annoyed by skinny jeans and ugg boots, excited to learn more about gender and lgbtqq studies, the type who spends her weekend working or staying in watching movies, but sometimes i'd rather go out and try new things.
I do: cry during Extreme Makeover Home Edition (and many other commercials, cliche love scenes, etc), like giving gifts better than receiving them, listen to music [ratatat, copeland, etta james, coheed and cambria, corinne bailey rae, jewel, journey, keith urban, natalie merchant, the ramones, cat power, regina spektor, tracy chapman, imogen heap], miss my yellow lab who died a few months ago at the age of 13.

I don't: like when people classify people by the music they listen to, have much confidence in myself, like haters, let many people 'in', like drugs, have big muscles, or have any really special talents, like wastng an entire day by sleeping in too late, know what I want to 'major in' or what I want to do with my life but i'm scared and excited to figure it all out.
I love: feeling free, finding new passions, McChickens with cheese and no mayo, exploring, spooning, fuzzy robes, when people smile back at me, buildings and bridges, and colorful people.
I have: the most unoriginal name in the entire world, two jobs (the Weisman Art Museum and Erbert and Gerberts), a big heart, a golden retriever puppy, an amazing, beautiful girlfriend.

I can: be anyone's confidant, spell almost anything backwards as fast as a person could spell it forward, be ridiculously imaginative, fall asleep during ANY movie, no matter how interesting it is or what time of night it is.
I think: too much, i'm too sensitive, at the absolutely wrong times, that open-minded people are beautiful, that I learn more from people-watching on the street than I could ever learn in a classroom.

I can't wait to learn more about all of you throughout this semester!
