Whitney and Her Top Ten
My name is Whitney and I am a sophomore studying Studies in Cinema and Media Culture and minoring in Management. I am a transfer student this year from Lynn University in Florida. I am from Minnesota originally but I am still not looking forward to the winter; it seems I can never really get used to the cold.
I really enjoy anything that has to do with film: behind the scenes, the film making process, emerging of ideas, creativity, different roles of people on and off camera, analysis, and of course watching it. I have always been curious and fascinated by the ways of different women in the industry, and this is what has led me to this class.
As of right now, this is my top ten list (in no particular order)...
1. 13 (This film is very twisted and raw, but good acting by the teenagers).
2. Dirty Dancing (the ultimate love story)
3. Gladiator (It is very tragic, but an amazing story of one man's life).
4. Legends of the Fall (This takes place out in the country and a long time ago. It expresses a different way of life that we don't experience. It is also a love story).
5. Munich (Most people who watched this film think it is boring and slow-going, however, I loved it).
6. Ocean's 11, 12 (13?) ( I just like everything about these films: the characters, actors, actresses, plot, location, background music, etc...)
7. Great Expectations
8. Rush Hour 1, 2, 3 (Well everyone knows Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker are a hilarious duo).
9. Sister Act ( Whoopi Goldberg is great in this movie).
10. Selena ( This is a based on a true, tragic, fairytale story. It is a story of a girl who made her biggest dreams come true, only to have them end in one night by a woman who was closest to her).
Comments
Gosh this list of movies really rocks! I would say about 7 out the 10 movies on the list I could or have watched over and over again like Ocean's 11. I'm not sure what it is about this movie, but I throughly enjoy the plot and character roles.
