black female filmmakers
I found three black females that have left quite an unforgettable mark in the film industry. The first was Maya Angelou, most people know her as a famous poet but she actually directed the movie Down in the Delta in 1998. The second one is Gina Prince Bythewood who directed the film Love and Basketball in 2000 starring Omar Epps and Sanaa Lathan.
