Blog Journal for Wednesday, April 9

For today's journal, simply post one or two questions or challenges about paper #2 and Song of Solomon. You might think about conflict and history in the novel, characters, etc... OR you might want to write a point for discussion about how your paper is going so far, challenges you are having, questions that you think others might also want to discuss etc...

I think for a very helpful recourse we should actually discuss how to always follow the pattern of coming back to the thesis on each paragraph. And my general question is whats the way to connect paragraphs including to the thesis when you are writing about something different as an example or support paragraphs?

1. I was always wondering why would Milkman hung out with Guitar even though he found out that Guitar is in secret society called "Seven Days" and kills innocent people.

2. Why did Milkman slept with this beautiful prostitute while he was in a journey? If I was him, I would just sleep in motel or something, because duing that journey, Milkman realized how bad he was to Hagar. If I was Milkman who realized how bad he was to his ex-girlfriend, I would not go sleep with a prostitute...

challenge:
- find good quotes for the paper that connect with my idea.
- too much information to put into the paper. sometimes i don't know how much information my paper need

Question: did milkman die at the end of the book.

comment. The book is confusing and at the firs two chapters it really didn't make sense, but later the story was flowing from this chapt. to the other.

Well, the most challenged for me to write this essay was about finding quote to support the argument. The reason that make this hard was because the book was a very challenge book to read.
Sometime i feel like i didn't really understand some part in the book what is really mean and because of that i didn't fully understand the whole story.

I'm having problem making transition from a paragraph to the another.

Sometime I feel overwhelmed due to the fact that there are too much information given at one time.

the most challenge thing that i have in paper 2 is that the conflict in the novel is too comlicated to understand. Iconfused thge relationship between charecter and how they related for example i never though that Milkman and Crinthians relate to each other but I found out that they are sister and brother.

I think that the Paper #2 is really different between Paper #1. First we all need to understand what the novel talks about. So the biggest challenge for me will be that find some good quotes from the book. We are not only going to find the quotes, but we are also suppose to explain them and connect them to our main theme. So I think that this should be a big challenge. Another challenge for me is that Because I my idea is writing about the conflict between Milkman and the society, so I had to think about many parts of the conflict. Because they exist in many places, So connect them together and get a main conflict will also be difficult for me.

In my paper i am the character telling about the conflict. i choose to be Corinthians and am having hard time using qoutes form the book. i just don't know how to introduce the quote since i am writing my paper as a first person.

i think that this was a good book. i have alot of idea's that are very importing in my topic. my paper had too much summizing but i changed it so it was more of a conflict

From the novel, it is kind of confusing. That make me brought some question was.
How did his father conflict affect Milkman become selfish and greedy??
Secondly i confused about why why the Milkman,Macon DEad and Pilate had to have affect to the gold? because the gold is only between Macon dead and Pilate..

The author wrote the novel in a mystery and suspicious way. She wrote an incident without explaining further of why the characters did that. She left that to the readers to think about it. For example, Guitar killed Milkman in the end of the story.

Firstly, she didn’t explain clearly actually why Guitar wanted to kill Milkman. The perspective “Guitar killed Milkman because he wanted to get the gold was what we thought but not from the author.

Secondly, what happened to Guitar after he killed Milkman? I believed, he would go nearer to them and looked at Milkman, Pilate and for sure, the gold. However, the author didn’t write down all this. She left the ending part to us, the readers.

Question:i'm wondering why Macon dead was against his sister Pilate and also why Macon son "milkman was against this idea?
Is anything real behind this, so any body who have commen on this issue you are welcome to tell us more about this.

the most challenging parts is trying to avoid summrizing the pages or the events that the author wants to anlyze.sometimes the outhor sees diving in the setuation that he was avoiding from which is summarizing the story.

Questions: 1. How can the author become prave and have the courage to move his paper instead of worrying about if he is on the right track or not.
2. how can the outhor connect his anlyze to the life o the characters wihtout telling what is in the book, if he tell what is in the book then that will be summrizing.

paper 2 is especially hard for me because of our source. the book, "Song of Solomon" is a very complicated book from the first page to the end. there are a lot of conflicts in the story from a lot of different characters point of views so to pick just one conflict is very hard. and once you do pick a conflict you have to choose from which characters perspective you will write about.

The most challenging thing is that the book was really confusing and it is hard to figure out and even write about it. the book is off and on kind of that it has alot of characters and it is hard to focuse only one or two.
