I would say that at the most basic level, we're driven to discover ways to improve people's lives.

We are driven to discover how humans develop, both physically and psychologically. We are driven to discover how humans learn. We are driven to discover how humans interact. We are driven to discover how to best help children, youth, and adults whose lives are troubled. We are driven to discover how families function. We are driven to discover how most effectively to teach children and youth. We are driven to discover more about the human condition and how to help people become healthy and productive and creative.

Add that we are driven to discover how humans learn over the span of their entire life and discover how to best teach the adult learner.

We are driven to discover how a high-quality life can be accessible to everyone.

Driven to discover the best ways for each of us to learn and improve ours and others' lives.
