Hi. as most people know I am a PSEO student at the U and it is my senior year. I am in the process of applying to colleges, and I was just wondering if I could get anyone's input on how they found the right college for them. I am applying to many colleges in Florida and just a few here, in MN. I tend to like a smaller school because I hate being a number. So far this year, I haven't had as hard a time as I thought I was going to have going to a LARGE school. It is actually working out very well.
I love to tour different colleges. It is a hobby of mine and I can't leave a campus without getting a certain atire before leaving. Werid hobby, I know. But that is what I collect, attire from colleges.
Anyways....How do you guys choose the U of M? What were the main things you looked for in the right college? How many of you would highly reccomend my applying here next year? How is it as a college. Does it give off the right experience of college life? Does anyone have any other suggestions of colleges you had in mind that you also recommend. Let me know because I would love to hear everyone's thoughts on this. I just want this application, choosing school stuff to be over with. That's why i am doing early addmissions for schools.
Thanks!
Dude... good call on the early applications. I applied to the U of MN the first week in September of my senior year, and I heard back that i was admitted in October before 1st quarter was done...and I didn't do ANYTHING after that!! It was the best decision I've ever made. As far as the U goes, I absolutely LOVE it... mainly because I am a number in most of my classes. I like to do my own thing and I like being one of 200-300 students in my chem, nutrition, and math classes. Rhetoric is the one class that is small, so if you like the rhetoric size, it is false advertising... and if you do not like being a number, perhaps you'd feel more comfortable somewhere else....but its really not that bad, if you need help its there. Do not stress out about college. If you do not like your school after a semester just switch. No big deal. Besides...if you can't have fun in college (no matter where you go) there is something seriously wrong with you. Good luck though.
Posted by: Pata at September 27, 2004 11:28 PMThanks for the reply. It helped a lot and it made me not worry so much. It does make it hard to decide on a college since I feel comfortable at both.
It all just takes time, and I guess I have to be willing to wait for it. But I was really glad to get your feedback. If you ever think of anything else, let me know!
