Meatrix

I watched the Flash Movie on factory farming. I think this is an argument because it is showing one view on factory farming...when there can be many different views. The claim that the people who made this were trying to make, is that factory farming is an awful thing. The creators of The Meatrix use plenty of pathos throughout the movie. I think the first example was showing the pigs all lined up in miniature cages and then noting that the pigs can’t turn around, don‘t see sunlight, get fresh air, and some don‘t even touch the ground. Then, they talk about how the animals are in such close places that they try to destroy each other. So they show how factory farms prevent this by debeaking chickens, preventing them from pecking each other to death. The patho comes in visually and while they explain what happens. They actually show the cartoon chickens and pigs in these poor conditions. I think this adds to the audience emotion. This is a very effective way of making a good argument. It’s simpler to understand then some lengthy boring article. It’s quick and gets the points across easily, and it is just as credible as any article is., in a more creative and in my opinion, affective way of getting the point across to people. Do you guys think it is a more affective way of presenting an argument....I’d be surprised to hear from someone who doesn’t think it is more affective.
