Hi everyone, I'm not sure about other campus jobs that you guys might have, but the one I have isn't so great. This school year hasn't started out so good for me. I have been getting sick a lot, and have been very stressed causing me not to study (I have two tests tomorrow!), and I also missed some classes. But I've only missed two days of my job. When I called and said that I wasn't coming in one of the managers said "Ok, but just to let you know we only give employees three days to call in and then we replace them!" Maybe I'm a very sensitive person but the way she said it hurt my feelings, and made me think that she didn't believe that I was sick or didn't care. And I don't think that policy is right either. I ususally have good attendance, and even if someone calls in four times because they are really sick and can't come in, that's no reason to fire them. Getting sick happens and you can't always control it. And besides I have work study so even if I needed a day off because of some academic reason, they should give me it off because school is suppose to come first. Anyways besides that today when I was working, the manager said she would come and give me a break at 11:30. I check in students so I can't leave my stand unless someone else comes to take my place. At 11:30 she didn't come, and she never came until I was done working at one. I was upset because I'm suppose to get a break, and hadn't eaten anything for the whole day and didn't get to until I got home at four. Maybe I shouldn't be making a big deal of this but I just want to be treated a little more fairly.
