good day to all.
i was just going to take a casual class poll on how much people know about the vegan lifestyle. i would also like to know how much people care about the issue. (be honest, its okay!!) hehe. thanks guys. (ps- this is for my research paper topic)
I think it would be an interesting topic to talk about because in todays society there is so much emphasis put on living a healthy 'balanced' lifestyle and I think the philosophy behind it is unclear to many, although I don't think I really know that much myself. I'd be interested in learning more, like; do people adopt veganism because they don't think animals should die for human consumption - or is it a health issue - or both? So yeah, it's an interesting topic.
Posted by: Josh at October 7, 2004 02:58 PMI love meat. In fact if there were a such thing you could call me a meatatarian. Joking. I don't eat vegetables at all so I don't understand how vegans can have them as a basis to all their meals. I think that meat is here for us to eat and it taste excellent. I tried being vegetarian for a week, I lasted one day until I began to crave meat. It's a part of me, what can I say.
Posted by: Romisha at October 7, 2004 06:30 PMPersonally i like to meat but at the same time I love veggies (call me weird but it's true)...i also am really angry at factory farming and the horrible things that animals go through these days just so we can eat them. I've recently started to buy only organic meats and I might just shift to no meat at all...anywayz ur topic sounds interesting...
Posted by: Alia at October 8, 2004 02:02 PMI don't know anyone that is a vegan, but it really interests me. I would like to know how people that live that lifestyle get all the nutrition and vitamins they need. What makes a person necessarily decide to become a vegan, and do they need to take any steps to proceeding it? Such as health issues, shots, or anything? I care because everyone has a right to their lifestyle and as long as one is not hurting themselves, I fully support their decision.
Posted by: palm tree at October 10, 2004 04:26 PMWell I know that they don't eat meat and other animal products. This issue doesn't affect me because I don't plan on becoming a vegan, but it could interest others who are thinking about it.
Posted by: Chelle19 at October 10, 2004 07:24 PMI would really like to know more about the vegan lifestyle/diet, especially what the 'rules' are. Like what exactly u can and can't eat...and are dairy products allowed or not. Also, I have seen lots of ads for meat 'substitutes' ( I think that's what they're called) like hot dogs that are actully made of vegetables...what are those foods and are they safe to eat?
PS- I actually tried one of those veggie hot dogs...they taste okay I guess...not exatly the same as a regular meat hot dog but they weren't terrible either.
hello, to be honest i dont really know that much about the vegan lifestyle, i mean i know that they dont eat any animal products or use any animal products thats just about all i know, and i know you wanted honesty, so i am going to tell you that this topic doesnt really mean anything to me because i think they should do what they want and it shouldnt really affect others
