What does everyone know about......

Ok I am going to use the blog as a poll like thingy to get a sense of people's opinions on my prospectus topic. What does everyone here know about the Islamic Empire in Spain ??? Has anyone done any research on this topic before (like for a history class or something?) ...I really appreciate any feedback you guys give me so blog away in reply to this post !!!!!!

Well I took Spanish in high school and I know that especially in southern Spain there was a lot of Islamic influence that you can see in the architecture. I know that the Islamic empire spread into Spain, I'm not sure when exactly and I don't know a lot of the details but I think it's an interesting subject, how the Catholics, Jews, and Muslims got along - or didn't get along, not sure. But given the current state of things in the Middle East I think it would benefit everyone to know more about Islamic history.

Hey Alia, to be honest I know very little about the Islamic Empire in Spain. I don't really remember learning about the Islamic Empire in Spain. I would be interested in learning more on this topic. Hope I helped!

To be honest with you, I do not know anything about your topic, and I have never realy thought about it. I would really like to learn some about it. You would do a great job on researching, and I know your paper will be very informative. I care about this issue also, because I think it is important to know how other countries run their Government. It can be very interesting and helpful to understand things going on in our Government. Because I am a Muslim, I know a couple of things about the dominance of Islam in Spain, especially in the Southern city of Cordoba. Didn't Ottoman Empire invade Spain and other places in Europe. ( I think that is why Albania and Turkey are Islam practicing countries also)

Ya that's right ...Islam not only spread to Spain but to the Ottoman empire, hence Bosnia and Herzegovina, Turkey, Kosovo, and other countries of Eastern Europe are Muslim countries, in addition to many countries in Asia.

alia - im sorry to say but i actually have NO IDEA about anything related to your topic. i think it is interesting and will definitely be a good and interesting challenge! i think it will be extremely interesting when it is time to present your research because very few people know or have heard of your topic! good luck with everything and sorry i wasnt much help!!!

hey alia!
i didn't even know there was a muslim presence in spain! it sounds like a great topic though... and it would be interesting to know more about it. i took a world literature class my senior year and we read books on each religion, so i know some stuff about muslim faith, but dont know about spain and the like. happy researching!
