Outsourcing

So i found out that almost nobody knows what outsourcing is. Its when companies shift jobs overseas for cheaper labor in places like India and China. Do you think this is a bad thing? Is it unethical or should companies be able to do this to complete in today's global economy? Anyway, thanks for replying to my earlier post and hopefully this one too.

I think that outsourcing is okay, because it provides those people with jobs. There are many ways that you could look at it though. On the other side we could say that it takes away job sfor Americans, but there are so many jobs here, that it's not very difficult to get one if you try. It is more important for the jobs to be offered over in other countries because the need them more than we do.

Josh,
I still do not know too much about outsourcing, but from the definition you gave, it doesn't sound like anything i would completely oppose to. I would like to learn more before I would say yes it is a good idea or no it isn't. What are the benefits to it? What are some consequences?

I know that outsourcing of jobs inthe united states is a big issue in the upcoming elections. As we all might now, when we call for example Microsoft Customer Service, we don't call to New Jersey or California; we call to India. Jobs in computer industry are rapidly moving out to other countries and continents worldwide. I think that the US should practice outsourcing in extreme moderation, because if you lean towards one side or another, you may end up hurting 1) your nation/economy (like King George the second or 2) end up hurting other counttries

I kind of don't know to much about outsourcing but with that definition I could probably give you what I think. Like Romisha was saying it kind of depend on who side it comes from. I basically don't have a problem with it because at first I didn't know what the word means. It's kind of good in a way because it is providing jobs for people in other coiuntries. To some people that is against it would argue that it is bad and probably because they think that it is already not supporting jobs for USA and then turn around and proide jobs for another country. I kind of o with it now because it's kind of cool how America is outsourcing and not being selfish.
