halloween

Hi!
Okay, I decided that I wanted to blog about one of my most memorable Halloweens.
I remember in 5th grade two of my friends and I wanted to do something completely different from everyone else. My friends and I were always trying to do things in pairs or groups, and also things way out of the ordinary. Well we decided to be Santa, a christmas tree, and an Elf. I was the elf. Our mother's made our costumes for us most of the years, so they were pretty original. We had three Halloween parties to go to that year, 4 including school and we also wanted to trick-or-treat in all of our neighborhoods. We were hardcore trick-or-treaters. Anyways, we won 4 Best costume adwards and had our pictures taken by 7 or 8 different people (people we didn't know). The next day our picture appeared in 2 newspapers, with just a little blurb about our costumes and us.
The funny thing was, it was pouring rain that night, and most of the people saw us as soaking, melted characters. My friend that was the tree, had a big hoop at the bottom and it was full of water from the rain. She also had a battery pack of lights, and they went out. I even had the curly shoes with the bells. It was pretty awesome. The best part was coming up with the idea on our own, doing it together and having fun even though it was nasty out. I do NOT like rain, but that is one of the only times I can remember not minding it at all. This year for some reason I am really in to Halloween, and really miss the fact that I cannot dress up. I cannot wait until there are some fun, older style Halloween parties in the future! There's my story, and I hope no one thinks i am a dork now!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

lol. Last year, my family and I had an awesome time scaring kids away from our house. My dad is a tall slim white bald guy. My mom had an idea of dressing up him as a woman. First of all, my dad resisted and said that it was too much work, but we finally made him do it. He had a wig, pair of womens shoes, and a skirt. I was the official "pot holder", which meant that when my dad greeted the kids, I would come out holding a big pot saying "the pot is ready" in a weird voice. My mom and my aunt were the "housekeepers", standing on my dad's sides saying "come on kids, come in", So, here comes a pair of kids. They ring the doorbell, and when they see my dad disguised as a woman, they look at each other. Anyway, he opens the door, and says: oh, gosh, look at these children, these wonderful children, I bet they are so tasty!". Afterwards, I come with a giant pot and an absolutely ugly voice saying, that "THE POT IS READY" I have an apron covered in blood and the area around my mouth is colored by blood (red paint). All of the time, my mom and my aunt were standing on the sides looking like zombies. Those kids were so scared. They looked at their parents and just stepped back almost crying. Then, we understood that we were a little too harsh. We ended up giving them some candy, and they promised they wouldn't come back the next year, no matter what

Boy. Does that ever sound like fun. As many times as I wanted to try and scare kids away, it never happened. Mostly because I was the girl always anticipating if I should walk up a certain set of stairs to a scary looking porch. I don't even know why stuff liked that scared just on Halloween, because during the rest of the year, NOTHING could scare me! Except for the news that is. Oh and Presidents! When I was little I was terrified of preseidents! In kindergarten when there were elections going on and my class went down to the gym to look at the voting process, I started crying and ran into the girl's restroom for an hour. Fourth grade I refused to do a report on a president because I was too terrified to research them. I even told my teacher that and was able to do an alternative assingment. I wonde rif that would still work? In sixth grade my family went to Washington D.C. Let me tell you, that was one of the most terrifying trips I have EVER been on. It was an everyday nightmare! I know it sounds crazy. I don't even understand it much. All I know is part of my problem was because most of them seemed to be assassinated, and death scared the s*** out of me too.

Hey that was kind of funny. I don't think you was a dork though, you was just having fun. It's alway's cool to have fun specially with friends. That was a crazy night, but it came in handy cause you was in the newspaper.
