so this is my halloween story, definetly not as cool as palmtrees but its a halloween story none the less. so its fifth grade and thats a prime trick or treating age, my friends and i had these huge plans with maps and routes and we remebered from the year before which houses handed out the king sized candybars and which ones handed out pop and juice and all the cool stuff. Its three days before halloween and i am craving my pumpkin with my cousin and my little brother. I had already taken all the seeds out and was starting to cut out the mouth with a knife. As you know when you take out the pumpkin seeds your hands get very slippery and i was pushing the knife into the pumpkin and my hand slid down the knife blade cutting all my finger tips, but mostly my pinky finger tip. I freaked out and started screaming because it hurt really bad and there was blood all over. It only hurt so bad because it was getting all of this pumpkin juice in the cut and that does not feel good! it was a preety deep cut so my mom had to take me to the emergency room to get stitches. We arrived at the emergency room and signed in or whatever and were told that they were to busy to handle something like this and to come back in a few hours! so my mom, very upset, drove me back to our house and we sat and watched the football game for about 2 hours while i held papertowels over my finger. we went back and waited for a while and then they went in and gave me 4 stiched across the tip of my pinky, i was not very happy about this because i hate needles and it was kinda painful. The only good part was that i got to go to school the next day and i am right handed and it just so happened to be on my right hand so i didnt have to write anything for like a week!
That sounds so painful. I could not imagine that happening to me. I have yet to carve my own pumpkin because of that. I always draw the face and my dad would cut it out for me. I would however clean out my own pumpkin. I haven't had my own pumpkin for a couple years but this year I went out to pick one with some friends. I will carve my own, and pray that it goes okay. I'll let you know!
Posted by: palm tree at October 26, 2004 09:40 PMOooh, that got to sound like it hurts. I know it hurts, not only the stitches but the cut and it getting infected with pumpkin juice. I know what it feel like to get stitches, it's not a very good thing. I had stitches in my left eye brow.
Hey, that do sounds like a good thing not to do any writing homework. In grammar and high school I hated writing. I am kind of feeling it now, but don't care that much for it.
palm tree, i am sure that everything will be fine, its just that i was too little to be cutting my own pumpkin and i should have washed my hands before trying to cut it, hopefully i can help you learn from my mistakes! dont forget to tell me how it goes!
