It's a Big Fat Revolution

I found the viewpoint expressed by Nomy Lamm to be very forward and confrontatious. She comes right out and addresses what she believes. She does not cover or soften her message because of society. If anything, I would say the tone is anarchy. Rather than conform to society's views, she stands out and is very outspoken, something that isn't easy to do when the media and most of the world disagrees. She talks about the existence of 'fat oppression', something that is not in your face but is subtle in daily life in society. Everywhere there are ads to 'lose ten pounds in a week' or 'I was never happy until I went on such and such weight loss program and now I'm getting attention and I feel so good'. While they are not always as apparent, they exist and this is the pressure that society puts on 'fat people.' Her essay is an intriguing look at what is becoming an icreasingly large social issue for Americans.
