"Its a Big Fat Revolution"

i really enjoyed reading "Its a big fat revolution." i think the main reason the article maintained my attention was Lamm's writing style and how i felt like she was talking to me, in a conversation type way... rather than me just reading text. she is completely blunt and isnt afraid to say anything. for americans espeicllaly, and our country as a whole, obesity is a huge issue (as we all know from people's research papers). I knew exactly what Lamm was talking about in terms of body image and the media because that is exactly what my reaseach paper is about. people in general are exposed to aproximately 3000 ads per day, and the majority of them are promoting diet, exercise, suppliments... etc (you get the picture). i think it is very important for a women to stand up for what she believes. i feel like in the US today, issues are either of people becoming increasingly heavy, or sickly thin, leaving no room for anything inbetween. her tone is very affirmative and incorportates pathos through her truthful words. as Lamm says "it will never be over, and thats really f-ing hard to accept." i think in that one statement she touches the audience because as individuals, we all think this way about some aspect of our lives... and for many of us, its the exact same thing she is talking about. overall, i completely agree with Lamms perspective and arguements. just turn on the TV, open up a magazine, or read the newspaper... you cant view any type of media without encountering something on this topic!!
