I think that this episode of the Simpson's tells us a lot about presidential election rhetoric and political rhetoric. It shows a lot about what really goes on in the presidential elections. For example the politicians tell us what we want to hear. Like in the video when I think Dole says "Abortions for all" and then audience yells "booooo" , then Dole says "Abortions for no one" and the audience yells "booooo", then he finally says "Abortions for some, mini American flags for others" the audience yells "yayyy". This is a good example of the politicians just trying to get votes from people, which really does happen in real life. I think the video makes arguments. For example it shows how the American people are naive and gullible. They didn't even know that Dole and Clinton where aliens. Also it shows the argument that the two party system is not really a two party system. The two systems are really similar in many respects. I think "Citizen Kang" does a better job of communicating a message than the flash movies because it is longer and goes more in depth on an issue while including humor, hyperbole and visual stimulation. So yeah I enjoyed analyzing the Simpson's, it is kind of fun looking at it at an education stand point. See you all in class.
