I thought that Lamm brought up an interesting perspective in her article. It seems as though there is really nothing anyone can do about being fat. You can't lose enough weight and keep it off no matter how hard you try. In the article where she was issueing her family I felt sad for her because weight shouldn't be about how a child grows up. The tone she uses in this article I believe really let you know that she is trying to approach her problem as honest as possible. Her style tries to show that it is a real issue and she is laying it out for everyone to see. After reading her article I believe her argument was very convincing, we can only imagine what it would be like to be in her situation because even if we tried some of us would never fat and made fun of and beltittled the way she was. I think that the message of this argument is that people need to become more aware the situation that others have to live with. Why does our society think that thin is in? Especially the part of the article with diet books in it made me think that all being thin is a media portayal of the perfect body type, and a marketing ploy.
