Will There Ever Be a New Stadium For the Vikings?

Since 2004, Anoka County was thought to be the new home of the Minnesota Vikings stadium. On November 20 the county issued a press release stating, "Anoka County Rescinds Vikings Stadium Offer," according to the Anoka County website.

This leaves many fans wondering if a new stadium will ever be built and if not; what will happen to the Vike's? After all, their contract with the H.H. Metrodome is up in 2011.

All hope is not lost Vikings fans. According to the Star Tribune, Eric Grubman, the executive vice president of finance and strategic transactions of the National Football legue, visited Gov. Tim Pawlenty last week. Let's hope he wasn't here to congradulate our governer on our team winning yet another amazing game last Sunday.

Personal Hover Crafts Are Not Fiction

The personal hover craft is called a Vertipod and can be bought for around $10,000 although; they are not yet available to the public according to, ubergizmo.

The Vertipod comes in a make-it-yourself kit and can hover any where from 5 to 15 feet above the ground and it can reach speeds as high as 15 miles an hour according to ubergizmo.

The purchaser can choose between a petrol or ethanol engine according to Geekologie.

Nintendo's "Super Mario Galaxy" Combines Old Favorites With New Adventures

The second game for Nintendo’s Wii, featuring favorite plumber, Mario, is called, “Super Mario Galaxy,? and has recently been released, according to MSNBC. The game features similar story lines from previous games. Yes Mario is rescuing Princess Peach and yes Bowser is the bad guy but this time the whole gang has adventures in Outer Space, according to MSNBC.

Super Mario Galaxy is described on Gamestop’s website as, “The ultimate Nintendo hero is taking the ultimate step... out into space. Join Mario as he ushers in a new era of video games, defying gravity across all the planets in the galaxy. When some creature escapes into space with Princess Peach, Mario gives chase, exploring bizarre planets all across the galaxy. Players run, jump and battle enemies as they explore the many planets. For Mario to succeed, gamers will press buttons, swing the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers and even use the Wii Remote to point at and drag things on-screen.? The game can be bought from Gamestop’s website for $49.99.

Ancient Seal Belonged to Famed Queen Jezebel

An ancient stone tablet discovered in Israel in 1964, is now believed to have belonged to Queen Jezebel, a Queen from biblical times according to MSNBC. The News organization quoted Marjo Korpel, an Old Testament Scholar, from the University of Utrecht, “"The lion-sphinx with female head and female Isis-Hathor crown, which is unique, this clearly points to a queen.?
According to Science Daily, Queen Jezebel was portrayed in the Bible as a woman who took advantage of her husband’s royal seal on letters, but this seal discovered in 1964, proves she had her own seal.

Adrian Peterson Outdoes Himself Again

Sunday’s game saw a huge win for the Minnesota Vikings against the San Diego Chargers with a score of 35-17, according to the Pioneer Press.

Many thanks can go to the Vikings star rookie, Adrian Peterson for the win. He once again broke a NFL rushing record, this time with 296 yards. His three touchdowns weren’t too shabby also.

Adrian Peterson is the Vikings newest star running back and is helping get this team; who has struggled with their offense all season, back on their feet.

Adrian Peterson recently bought a home in Eden Prairie where he lives with his brother and numerous family members, according to the Star Tribune.

When asked by the Star Tribune’s reporter what his long-term plans are in the NFL he replied, “I want to be the best player to ever play this game.?

New Species of Dinosaur Found in Argentina

What is believed to be a new dinosaur species was found in Argentina, scientists said October 15. The dinosaur was a 105-foot plant eater and one of the largest dinosaurs ever found, according to the Star Tribune.
Scientists believe that this was an unknown species because of the unique shape of its neck, not seen before. They have named the animal, Futalognkosaurus dukei after the Mapuche Indian words for “giant? and “chief?, and for the company, Duke Energy Argentina, which helped pay for its excavation, according to ABC News.
The giant herbivore walked the earth 88 million years ago during the late Cretaceous period according to TIME.

Al Gore Wins Noble Peace Prize

Former Vice-President, Al Gore, and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, will share the 2007 Noble Peace Prize, “for their efforts to build up and disseminate greater knowledge about man-made climate change, and to lay the foundations for the measures that are needed to counteract such change" (Noble Peace Prize 2007). Dr. Rajendra Pachauri is the chairman for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change which Al Gore calls, “the world's preeminent scientific body devoted to improving our understanding of the climate crisis." Lindsey Lohan Checks Out of Rehab

Lindsey Lohan, 21, has reportedly checked out of the rehab facility, Cirqu Lodge in Sundance Utah, according to MSNBC.
Lohan checked out of the facility on Friday and this was her third trip to rehab. According to the BBC, while in rehab Lindsey was seen bicycling and white water rafting.
In the last year Lohan had become more famous for her role in the Hollywood party scene than for her role in numerous movies including “Mean Girls? and “Herbie Fully Loaded?. Lindsey’s mom, Dina Lohan, had this to say about her daughter’s check out, “I’m proud of her. She’s moving ahead with her life.? (MSNBC)
In August, Lindsey, did admit she had a problem, she said her life had become unmanageable because she was addicted to alcohol and drugs. (BBC)

Brett Farve Sets Touchdown Record

The Greenbay Packers quarterback, Brett Farve, broke Dan Marino's career record of touchdown passes on September 30th in an easy win against the Minnesota Vikings in Minneapolis, according to ESPN. Greenbay Packers fans and Minnesota Vikings fans cheered together after Farve made a successful touchdown pass to Greg Jennings in the first quarter of the game. This was Farve's four hundred twenty first successful touchdown pass of his career. The touchdownn was followed by a taped recording of Marino congratulating the quarterback that was broadcast on the jumbo screens in the Metrodome.
According to The Star Tribune, Farve's team mate, Aaron Kampman had this to say about his quarterback, "He cares about the record, but it's not the most important thing. He cares about winning. That's when you know you have a special teammate."

Man Dies After Video Game Binge

According to CNN, a thirty year old man from Guangzhou, China died in an internet cafe from possible exhaustion after playing a video game online for over three days. Patrons fled the cafe in horror, after the collapse of the man. There are treatment facilities in China for internet addiction. According to the New Zealand Herald China's president, Hu Jinto has started a campaing to rid the internet of filth and make it a platform for the Communist Party regime.

Spears Bombs At the VMA's

Britney Spears, a MTV Music Video Awards performance veteran, was expected to make a huge comeback performance at this years's show. According to CNN her performance was anything but huge. Her dancing lacked enthusiasm and her performance was missing the wow factor of her previous performances. According to MTV, this show was supposed to top all of her previous appearances, which included a kiss with Madonna, an almost nude body suit strip tease and dancing with a python.
