Male Chauvinism in Four Chinese Cities

Earlier this month Appledaily published the results of a poll examining how Taipei's men compare to Chinese men from other cities when it comes to Male chauvinism(大男人主義). Here are the results of the poll:

(Cities listed are, from left to right, Taipei - Hong Kong - Beijing - Shanghai.)

1. Men should be very successful in their careers
2. Men should have more money and be more successful than their wives.
3. Men should posess things women don't, but not necessarily special privileges
4. Men should show strength, and face difficulties without sharing it
5. When facing difficulties men should take care of it themselves
6. The most important thing for successful men is wealth
7. Men should not take traditionally female jobs
8. A successful man should be scholarly and erudite.
9. Society's demands on men are too high, and are bad for men.
10. Very much look down on stay-at-home dads.
