I admit it...I'm a fan of Rock Star: INXS. I sort of fell into the show without hearing much hype about it. Then, I just started to watch it. And fatefully, tonight, I even voted for the first time for any reality show. For whom did I vote? Well...

I had to go with my local girl...Jordis Unga from St. Paul, MN. She's only 22 but she has this great bluesy voice and wonderful smile. Plus, you gotta give props to the Pacific Islander in her (dad is from Tonga).
Tonight, she rocked it with a soulful rendition of "Imagine" by John Lennon. She appeared a bit nervous at first but her voice was pure and she gained momentum as the song progressed. Strumming her guitar, she found her groove shortly into the song and took it away. It was beautiful.
Now, do I think she will win it? Unfortunately, I don't think she will because I suspect she's not the best fit for INXS. If she were on American Idol, she would win it all - hands down. But this reality show is about finding the best singer for INXS. That's a different story and we will have to wait to see what happens. I'm rooting for Jordis nevertheless.
Posted by richlee at August 30, 2005 10:27 PMOh my GOD! I seriously thought I was the only one! Ha! You totally read my mind. Jordis has the best voice, no question (except a week or two ago when she bombed that one song), oh, and she is beeeaaaauuutiful!! And she seems the least fake and most sure of herself. Wow, what a relief. I was feeling like such a dork :) We should start a club. For real. Okay, not for real... but I wonder how many other people feel the same way. Btw, did you TEXT your vote in? And how come no one else seems to have heard about a local girl being on TV?
Posted by: Nic at August 31, 2005 10:51 AMWell, we can be dorks together :) I even have watched the replays on VH1 on Sunday nights. I know, now, I am sharing too much.
I didn't text my vote. I went online to cast the vote and (sheepishly) voted twice!
Posted by: Rich at August 31, 2005 11:04 AMrich--my favorite show by far! i watch it obsessively and also follow the stars on the web. i voted for both jordis and jd last night (i voted on the web). jordis gave the most passionate and heartfelt performance, but i do want to put in a plug for jd. jd is the real deal. he is original, creative, rebellious, and a true rocker. the others are great vocalists and performers but most of their work is from broadway. jd arranges almost all of his performances, writes music and he doesn't get caught up in outfits--he stays true to himself. he is known for being controversial and abrasive but since when are rockers touchy feely? before we get too excited about ty or suzie or mig --let us not forget the forgetable STOP! GO! performance in mid august. jd was also an elvis impersonator for 2 years. very hot.
