The first chapter of the textbook did a good job outlining the basics of psychology as a science. It discussed, in great detail the scientific methods and processes behind psychology while in the process exposing many myths related to psychology. It then went on to discuss several of the different facets of psychology and some of the biggest contributing works, theories, and individuals to the field.
I found the part discussing the search for meaningful connections interesting because as an aspiring scientist I have learned to question EVERYTHING. This can lead an individual wrongly making many postulates about the things they are observing daily. I need to be careful not to make this same mistake because over analysis (in the wrong ways) can lead to the drawing of incorrect conclusions.
