Art and Design Resources

The university is going through a budget crisis and the library is not an exception. One of the ways we have decided to save money has been to end our subscription to ARTstor, the database of art and design images. Advice from the Art and Design department here helped us make the decision.

The cost of ARTstor was high, and cutting it saved us more money than we needed to save. This has allowed us to add a subscription to a less expensive database, the Design and Applied Arts Index (DAAI), which is the major database of articles in the literature on Design. We've been interested in this one for a long time and are happy to have the opportunity to add it, as unfortunate as the circumstances are.

We maintain a page on the library website where you can always go to see what books and videos have been purchased recently. We update it monthly, and keep the lists archived on the site.

I like to go to that page regularly to see what we've been getting that I didn't know about.

Note to Art and Design students:

I just want to let you know that I'm available to help you with your research on projects in your major.
