What I'd like to know is what happened to the cat ...
Perhaps it was unintentional, but the ABC News ad beside this story suggested the police response might have been a little over the top ...

This happened not far from where I grew up. I've been to Bates Township and Iron River and Marquette General Hospital many times (never because I got shot though). Leave it to one of my fellow Yoopers to have a loaded gun lying on the kitchen counter while he makes dinner. Classic.
