iphone...and the future..................said,'Mr. Spock'

I'd also like to ask what you all think about the iphone that apple just revealed.

I think that it is stepping even closer to all of us someday having a 'personal device' and that meaning that we have a cell phone/internet/music/video/tv/and anything else on a computer/ all in one.

One of the only questions that I would like to ask is this: 'How would this change our society?'....'How would it change the media?'...."How would it change 'us'(lets say...if it happened in the next 5 years)?)

My question is what do you all think would be the problems/obstictals?
or what would be what would be the benefits/rewards?

I'd just like to hear your answers....!

just some thoughts (like to hear your feelings)

I just wanted to list a post about video podcast. I just subscribed to a few and I have to say it is amazing. I used to hate having to try to find the greatest boarding video of the year and buying it on DVD, when now... many companies post their riders videos for free on the world wide web or on a video podcast. In finishing...I think that this technology is something for more designers to look into , because it is the future. We all should know how to edit videos, ( to some point, along w/ work with flash and web development), but also take our skills that we hve learned in print and design and put them into a new context. Lets just try to look too the future, and see what it beholds...and see where we belong in that schema.

This week play an interactive game and then discuss in your blog about the usability of the interface. Could the game's experience be improved if the interface was easier to use? How?

What is Interactive Design?
Interactive Design to me is the integration of motion, type and design into a new media.

What do you want to learn in the course?
I would like to gain a greater understanding of flash, because I know very little at this point. I would also like to have a greater understanding on how to build websites because I have only made a few and its something that I have a great interest in learning.

What applications / progamming languages do you know or want to learn?
I know some html, but very little and I learned it awhile ago. I've worked with dreamweaver and some flash in the past, but the flash I learned was never put on the web. So I would like to learrn how to do that, CSS and any other programming languages that I would need to know for the future.

An amazing bloggie

WEEK 1 ASSIGNMENT:

1.) What is Interactive Design?
-Interactive design is any form of design that requires the user to manipulate the design in order for it to fully function; that is, it requires the user to navigate the design using whatever means necessary...a mouse, stylus, touch screen, ect. "Interactive" means there are two things that are interacting with each other...in this case, it means a person interacting with the design of something else.

2.) What do you want to learn in the course?
-It would be helpful to learn more about what the design of something (a website, for example) can do for the viewer's experience. Up to this point we (okay, I) have been creating websites that are content-based and do not focus as much on the aesthetic values. Also, i would like to learn about some practical applications of Interactive Design, aside from the Web.

3.) What applications / programming languages do you know or want to learn?
-I would like to gain some good knowledge of Flash 8, for one. Also html/CSS languages seem to be a skill that many employers look for. I did some very basic html stuff way back in my freshman year, so a refresher/expander lesson or two would be very helpful! No exposure to CSS or anything else though, this would probably be helpful! I have designed a couple websites already, nothing I'm too happy with though.

1. Interactive design is the understanding and creating of interactive visual elements. This could include phone backround and screen savers. Why can we purchase all of these backgrounds but we can't make our own?

2. I would like to understand the way design is used in everyday life as an interactive tool as well as a means of mass communication. Also, i would like to better understand the process behind creating a web page, flash designs, interactive tools and all the bells and whistles

3. I am going to be honest. i don't know a whole lot of anything when it comes to programing and languages. BUT!!! I would like to put in the time to learn everything that i possibly can.
