National Trout Center projects

The National Trout Center (NTC), created in 2009 in Preston - “The Trout Capital of Minnesota” - has operated an environmental learning center for the past two years from a temporary address in downtown Preston. The NTC’s mission is to “conserve our natural and cultural heritage of trout and their cold water environments by engaging the public through education, practice and awareness.” The Southeast RSDP is collaborating with partners to produce designs and GPS mapping that will help raise public awareness about the NTC.

The Southeast RSDP enlisted the help of the U of M Center for Rural Design to create professional architectural designs of a proposed permanent home for NTC. The designs will be valuable in presentations to prospective philanthropic contributors and for a future capital campaign. The designs have been incorporated into a report/master plan being used to promote the center. In addition, GPS mapping is being created to help draw attention to the NTC.
