2014 Rural Grocery Summit

What: The Regional Sustainable Development Partnerships (RSDP) have received funding from USDA AFRI and Minnesota SARE programs to host a bus trip to the 2014 Rural Grocery Summit in Manhattan, Kansas on June 9-10.
The summit responds to the challenges facing rural grocery stores by offering the latest and best ideas for rural grocery operations. The summit will focus on the 'triple bottom line' of rural grocery store benefits - nutritional health, economic development, and community sustainability. The summit's agenda features 40 interactive sessions and three keynote speakers and will feature the launch of the rural grocer 'toolkit.'
The bus trip itself is free for those who wish to attend. Rural grocery store owners and managers also receive complimentary room, board and conference registration.

Who should attend: Rural grocery managers and owners, and anyone else interested in food systems and/or sustainable food distribution in rural areas.
Who is sponsoring: RSDP, along with USDA AFRI and K-State.
The specifics: Please join us on the bus. On June 8, we will start in Brainerd and make pick-up stops in St. Cloud, Willmar, and Fairmont (other stops may be available on request). The bus will drop us off at the Hilton Garden Inn in Manhattan, KS, where we are planning to stay, and return late on Tuesday, June 10.

Registration: Space is limited so register now.
Final day for registration is May 26
