Leadership: Week 3

Week 2 Definition: Leadership is about finding your strengths and then utilizing them to motivate others. Successful leaders also encourage the development of strengths within their followers.

Week 3 Definition: Leadership is about finding your strengths and then utilizing them to execute, influence, relate, or strategize with others. Successful leaders are able to develop these strengths not only in themselves, but also in those around them.

In this definition, I included the four categories of leadership. I think they are an important aspect of the types of leaders and how they go about their leading. As a leader, knowing what category best suits you can be very beneficial in your delivery of leadership. Rath and Conchie really preach this in their book, Strengths-Based Leadership, when they give examples of four leaders with each of the dominant leadership styles.

Nice Emily! I like how you included last week's definition. Do you think that a good leader should possess strengths from each of the four catagories you listed?
