Leadership: Week 7

Week 6 Definition: Leadership is about finding strengths and developing them within yourself and those around you. A successful leader is able to step back and see the bigger picture, while still working towards completing their goals in a playful, yet professional manner.

Week 7 Definition: Leadership is about finding strengths and developing them within yourself and those around you, and then understanding what each contributor has to offer. Successful leaders also have the technical skills required for the task and have a feedback process for their members. These leaders are also able to step back and see the bigger picture, while still working towards completing their goals in a playful, yet professional manner that fosters collaboration and creativity.

This definition is the most complex one that I have come up with so far. The readings this week really dug deep into what being a leader takes. I would have added more about what Goleman says about our stress levels being balanced, but I didn't have any room. I feel that this definition is a combination of bits and pieces of most of the readings, even if it is just a basic idea.

Your progress in developing your definition has been well displayed. I like how you relate to previous weeks and how your coming along. Do you feel that your definition currently encompasses all leaders?
