The American Psychiatric Association will no longer list Asperger's disorder in the new diagnostic manual after changes to the rewrite were approved Saturday.
This is first major rewrite to the diagnostic manual in 20 years, according to the New York Times.
The manual determines what doctors consider symptoms of mental disorders and shape who gets what sorts of treatments.
The Huffington Post said that full revisions will be evident when the manual is published in May.
