A friend and I took the architectural boat tour on the Chicago River and loved the chance to see the buildings in the early evening light. The tour guide Kip was bright and funny; he really made the trip delightful.
I will get more photos up later. What a delightful city! and I've been to Chicago several times but each time I discover more to enjoy!

This book, Baba Yaga, Ambiguous Mother and Witch of the Russian Folktale is on order for the University Libraries and is an excellent research resource on this fascinating theme.

On Friday I attended a library conference held at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. They gave us a long lunch hour with the opportunity to explore the grounds, including this lovely tulip.
