Big thanks to Representative Gutknecht

"Here we are fighting for democracy in Iraq and Afghanistan, and we have more and more closed rules here," Rep. Gil Gutknecht (R-Minn.) said. "We don't want democracy to flourish on the floor of the House of Representatives."

This is the sort of think that I like to read from Minnesota Politicians. I'm glad that I'm not the only person who sees these sorts of things as a problem. Thank you, Congressman.

I wonder if there is any possibility that a block of Representatives and Senators from Minnesota could try to create a national movement in the United States to permanently ban the use of Gerrymandering tactics in our Republic, so that real democratic debate and real competition for ideas and values could take place in our Congressional elections. I wonder.

We'll see.

On another note, Representative McKinney from Georgia has come to her senses. I'm so glad to hear that, very encouraged. Good for her as well. Now she has to deal with the repercussions, which remains sad.
