2008 Clash Wrestling Duals

The Clash started today with a bang. The very first match of The Clash VI on Mat #5 was something we were looking for, but it snuck up on us. InterMat #1 Jake Deitchler of Anoka face InterMat #3 Jake Salazar of Wasatch at 152. Salazar struck first with a double on his second offensive attempt, then picked up another takedown on a counter to build a 4-1 lead. An escape by Deitchler in the second and then a takedown of his own knotted the match at 4-4 before Salazar broke free at the end of the second. Deitchler gave Salazar the point to make it a 6-4 match, then tied it with a blast double and quickly kicked Salazar out. Salazar rebounded with a takedown after going neutral to extend the lead to 9-6 with 1:30 to go in the third. Deitchler got free and then tied it up with a single. 9-9 with :48 seconds to go in a wild one. Deitchler gives Salazar the neutral start for a 10-9 lead. Deitchler takes an 11-10 lead with a slick duck under with :30 to go. It finishes 11-10 as Deitchler knocks off Salazar.
