General Notes on Translation

I aim to post my own translations here, but first I should acknowledge the great debts I owe to my peers and professors. Anything I ever come up with will be profoundly influenced by my education. These translations are obviously my own choices and the errors belong to me alone, nonetheless I am indebted to many others who have aided me along the way.

I have a lot of degrees already; I'm working on the my fourth right now. After graduating from the University of Minnesota with a BA in Classical and Near Eastern Archaeology, Religious Studies, and Jewish Studies with minors in South Asian and Middle Eastern Area Studies, Asian Languages and Literature (with an emphasis on Japanese), and Hebrew, I'm back to work on that MA in Linguistics. One of my major interests is in ancient languages, and what I'm best in right now is the Hebrew. This blog is a place for me to collect my thoughts on some issues of translation and general linguistics, mostly regarding the translation of scripture. The Revised Fabulous Version is a work in progress, but aims to provoke insight into the texts which have changed our world.
