I have been confused, perplexed, manipulated, and aggravated. At least during a couple of the readings. On all channels was hard for me to grasp. I absorbed some but not close to all of it. I really enjoyed The Company Man. Murakami is innovative and clever although I don't particularly agree with his vehicle, consumerism. The Starting Now excerpt got my gears grinding. It builds off of some of what we chatted about last week. I like the argument of the cultural value of work. I could really argue with either side so maybe our discussion will help inform a decision as to whether or not art and it's emotional content can really inspire change in culture or humans for that matter. Two will enter... only one will be left standing!
