Three nonprofit workers killed in Brazil

Three French charity workers were found dead in their Brazil office Tuesday.

The three workers, identified as Delphine Douyere, 36, Christian Doupes, 38, and Jerome Faure, 42, headed the nonprofit organization Terr'Ativa that helped needy Brazilian children. Police say the three workers were allegedly killed by hit men hired by the organizations treasurer. The treasurer was accused of stealing money from the organization for many months, police said.

The treasurer has been arrested and has allegedly confessed to the crime, police said.

Douyere, Doupes, and Faure look to have been tortured and then stabbed to death, police said.

This case remains under investigation.
