brainstorming

So far I dont really have any concrete ideas for the final project. It's very open-ended so that makes thinking of an idea a little more challenging. At this point I'm just brainstorming some ideas and topics that might be of interest to me.

One aspect of the class that is interesting to me so far is the idea of using literacy as a way to tell one's story. Kozol argues that heaven is being able to live eternally through one's own literacy. I wonder if playing upon that theme could lead to some kind of final project. Maybe helping people who are unable to write down their own story reach Kozol's "heaven." Or perhaps I could take it to a more personal level, although I'm not sure what that would be.

I obviously have to continue to think this through. I'm really curious about what others are thinking about so far. Maybe that will give me more ideas....
