Obesity impact overstated

The CDC corrected its vast overestimation of the impact of obesity. Instead of the 365,000 annual deaths from obesity estimated in January, now the CDC’s estimate is 14 times lower: 25,000 deaths a year.

It is difficult to see how sound public policy can be planned when a federal agency announces such wild swings in estimates in just four months’ time.
