Moving forward by the numbers

I took my first official step toward grad school today--the Graduate Record Exam (or GRE). It's basically the SAT for grad school--written by the same people. Thankfully, I did very well. (Not to brag, but... 91st percentile math, 99th for verbal). Given that it is a $100 investment, it's a sign that I'm moving in that direction. Next up is a course I'm taking this fall in Geography (the field I'm planning on applying to). My plan is basically to take a course a semester for the next few years and have everything but the dissertation done by 2011 or so when Sarah gets her degree.

Another good number--25. That's the pounds I've lost on Weight Watchers so far. I didn't think I was really that overweight, but it's amazing how much healthier I look now. (Again, excuse the vanity.)

It feels good to have some positive motion.
