See my students!

This semester, one of my classes has been partnering with KBEM-FM, a jazz formatted public radio station based at North High School in Minneapolis. Students and the school and my students worked together (well, at least tried to) to create several radio programs about specific jazz artists. As part of the project, I asked my students to create a website with more research about their artist. Though there's still a few rough edges, I think it's basically completed, so I thought I'd post it--here it is:

What a great idea for the classroom, having students do website work for their research. I'll be thinking about how to use that myself.

BTW, I love Dave Brubeck...

Brad--I'm glad you liked it. This particular tool has it's rough edges, but I like the publishing capability of web work, and it's generally something students enjoy learning about. The hard part is creating a project that people will actually want to read. With this one, I'm lucky that the station has a built in audience.

I like Brubeck as well, though Miles Davis will always be my favorite. Unfortunately, one member of that group compained at the end that Brubeck's music always "made her sad." :(
