Analysis of Potential Wall Construction Practices
The attached file outlines three different wall construction styles - wood frame with fiberglass batt insulation, wood frame with expanding foam insulation, and insulated concrete form (ICF) construction. Information about building cost, embodied energy, insulative performance, and total energy consumption is included, along with the pros and cons of each.

Prospective Schematics for GPLLC Layout/Placement
My apologies for the long delay between entries. Four proposals for the layout and site placement of the new green residence hall are in the attached file. The committee agreed that the proposal 'A' is the most appropriate for the location.

Results of Open Campus Forum

Campus Forum Rescheduled
The open campus forum for design ideas and to meet the architects has been rescheduled for Thursday, December 13, from 6-9pm in Oyate Hall. Sandy promised GOOD refreshments, so take a break from study/research/t.v./napping and come in and share your thoughts!

Campus Forum Postponed
The open campus forum and design session that was scheduled for tonight, Dec. 4 from 6-9pm has been postponed due to weather. As soon as a new date and time are agreed upon, I'll post it here. Until then, keep the helpful comments and ideas coming!

Students conserve more energy when they know how much they are using.
A recent study at Oberlin College in Ohio found that the more aware students are of the electricity they are consuming, the more likely they are to conserve. Click on "Download file" to view a .pdf of the article that was published in the International Journal of Sustainability in Higher Education.
