Mulford Sibley died a few years ago. He was the fellow in the U of M Poli Sci Department who worried about past life recall and telepathy and trance mediums. He did a good book on life after death, written for high school students. He held court in a department in which various ideas about proper method came and went. Nobody's ideas about proper method, I expect, were broad enough to give trance mediums a voice in academic conversations. He held the space in the department open for new ideas, partly by being the strangest guy around.
Some day, the real North Central evaluation committee will come to the University of Minnesota. They will walk through, department by department, asking, "Where's Mulford?" And the Mulford count will be the University's ranking, quite precisely.

I graduated from the U of M, in 1962, and Mulford Sibley had been my poli-sci advisor ( I majored in philosophy). Sib was one of three professors whom I held in deepest esteem, for his extensive knowledge, and his manner of presenting it.
While engaged in undergrad studies, a second professor (one of the three) name Roy Swanson, a teacher of classics, took over for Mulford during a period when he was on leave.
One of the GRAND TREATS I enjoyed at the U of M, was when Swanson arranged with SIbley to have the class studying UTOPIAS visit Sibley at his home, down University Ave. in lovely Prospect Park. Sibley's wife, Marjorie, was present, and the class was privilleged to see Sib's personal library. It was there, in 1961, that I made the decision to enter the field of librarianship.
I am now engaged in some rather extensive writing, concerning my life at the U of M, and beyond, and am trying to recall, without luck, the STREET ADDRESS of the Sibleys in Prospect Park. Do you by chance know what Sib's home address was, in the early 1960s, or do you know who might know the address?
Let me thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide.

From my most unusual office, that was once visited by a friend named Ralph Steadman, the bizarre British cartoonist, who knew Gonzo author Hunter S Thompson better than most folks knew him.
