Families in Asia: Home and Kin by Stella Quah is now out for its second edition.

I read this first edition, presented it in my class as a graduate student in the U.S., wrote a review for its second edition recommendation to Routledge, Tayler & Francis, used part of this book when I taught Sociology of the Family, met the author here in Singapore, and finally heard from her that the second edition is out!

『アジアの家族ー家庭と親族』というシンガポール国立大学のステラ・クオー先生のご本の第2版が出版になりました。

アメリカの院生時代にフィリス・モーエン先生から進められて読んで、授業で発表して、受け持った家族社会学の授業で使ったり、出版社の第2版出版のための書評を書いたりと、いろいろなつながりがありましたが、今回お会いしたら第2版が出版になったとのことでした。感慨深い。

A legal report on spousal violence I worked on with Japan Research Center and my colleagues last year is now published from the Cabinet Office of Japan.　My friends from grad school helped me so much for locating information and checking my translation: Reiping Huang and Qinlei Huang for China, Eunhye Yoo and Minzee Kim for South Korea, and Ruanjai Aum Suwantaradon for Thailand. 東アジアにおける配偶者からの暴力の加害者更生に関する調査研究報告書

去年、中国・韓国・タイ・ミャンマーと法の調査を書いた日本リサーチセンター委託の内閣府調査のリポートが出版されました。上のリンクからご覧になれます。

中国・韓国・タイの法や政策は、各国の法や政府のサイトからそれぞれの国の言葉のものから訳し報告に入れたのですが、資料を探したり私の翻訳の確認を大学院の友人たちがしてくれたおかげの報告書です。

中国は黄瑞平（ファン・ルイピン）さんと黄沁蕾（ファン・チンレイ）さん、韓国は柳恩恵（ユ・ウネ）さんと金敃志（キム・ミンジ）さん、タイはルワンジャイ・アウム・スワンタラドンさんがサポートしてくれました。感謝。

귀찮아～～

韓国人友達と「面倒だから何もしたくないわ～」というようなことを話していたら、かわいいフレーズを教えてくれました。

「クィチャニズム귀차니즘」
面倒がり（怠け）主義。 イズムは英語の～ISM（主義）から。

「クィチャニズム」が顔に書いてある！」
（귀차니즘이 너 얼굴에 써있군나 クィチャニズミ オヌル ノ オルクレ ソイッグナ！）というように使うそうです。
