SJMC Graduate Students

The School of Communication at Northwestern University is inviting doctoral students who study human behavior in digital environments, and are at the beginning stages of their dissertation work, to apply to a workshop focusing on methodological issues in this research.

The School of Journalism and Mass Communication is pleased to announce that graduate student Soyoon Kim was awarded the University of Minnesota's 2013-14 Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship Award for her dissertation, "Challenging Bipolarity in Persuasive Health Communication: Tests of the Activation Patterns and Consequences of the Avoidance-Approach Motivations Explaining Media Health Message Effects."

The Missouri School of Journalism is seeking colleagues who will teach at the graduate and undergraduate levels in strategic communication in the areas of marketing research, data analysis, and consumer insights. Applications for two positions at the full-time tenure-track assistant professor level will be accepted beginning in August 2013.

The journalism program at the University of Minnesota Duluth seeks to add up to 3 instructors and/or assistant professors to teach courses in online editing, reporting, multimedia journalism and photojournalism on a full-time or part-time basis, beginning 8/26/2013. The applicants will be added to the Department of Writing Studies' hiring pool and may teach on a full-time or part-time level.

The Youth Activism Project, housed in the School of Sociology at the University of Arizona, invites applications for a one-year, renewable postdoctoral fellowship on youth and participatory politics to begin in Fall 2013.
